After receiving a masters degree in traditional craft related studies at University in Kyoto, Tatsuya Aida interned with a small furniture atelier while honing his craft. In 2005 he opened his own workshop with the goal of creating simple and beautiful, functional tableware products and kitchen accessories that could be used and valued for a lifetime. He produces his work in a variety of woods including sakura (cherry), chestnut, zelkova and walnut.
