Kiri Wood Rice Bin
Maker: Azmaya
Made in Japan
In Japan the fashioning of containers from Kiri (paulownia wood) has developed over centuries and kiri boxes have been traditionally used for the storage of valuables and a variety of goods. Containers made of kiri are known for their ability to protect their contents from moisture and repel insects while also being very lightweight.
The box is constructed from solid Kiri without the use of nails or screws. The lid can be easily removed for cleaning and a small kiri cup for scooping rice is included.
