A master forger of nambu tetsu, or traditional cast iron, Nobuho Miya works from his Kamasada ironware studio, founded by one of his ancestors in the Meiji era. Miya is unique as a master craftsman with an incredible eye for elegantly simple contemporary design.
Miya's [Hagama] nambu iron rice cooker, brings the edo era into the modern kitchen. The simple iron pot with wooden lid heats up evenly and thoroughly let the contents retain its natural flavor.
Nambu ironware is eco-friendly,lasting over 100 years if treated with care. Each pot is finished with a black lacquer coating and has two detachable handle for carrying while heated. Safe for use in ovens, with gas burners and IH stoves.
