Yonezawa Hoki Kobo
Katsuyoshi Yonezawa, his wife Junko, and son Motonao, are the third generation to produce artisanal brooms at Yonezawa Hoki Kobo, their family workshop. The Yonezawa family make each broom using traditional methods, from cultivating broomcorn, drying the crops, to finally crafting each broom by hand. The art of broom making in Japan is losing many of its practitioners to age, and it is getting increasingly difficult to find brooms crafted with such meticulous care and quality materials.
